Back to work today, almost a relief! Shirl and I make some complicated dolls, sometimes using fiddly fabrics - silks, organzas, but a simple little doll yesterday and we were hopeless. Oops need to cut another leg, oh, look, I've cut an extra arm! Ooooh missed at a but there - bit of hand stitching will fix it. Yep hopeless!
Then then whole catastpophe. The clothes.
You see we have been talking about doing a japanese doll for absolutely ages. So lets create some japanese clothes and our other little dolls can have a japanese visitor! Choose the fabrics mmmm lots of ummming and arrring there, then cut all the panels and strips.
At times the whole project just had us it stitches - excuse the pun. But thats what stitchin on sunday is all about. De stress at the end of the week, or is it start the week with a great day, never could quite work it out.

Beginnings
Hi, we are Shirley and Melva, sisters who sew. Sewing started as therapy - to get me away from my computers, to take our minds of our worries, to give our retail therapy a purpose (you can never have too much fabric!) - and it works. We primarily make dolls. Fabric dolls of all types. But we dont always stop there!!
I used to design giftware as a hobby that took over my life years ago and now we would both like to design a doll or toy or two and share our efforts with like minded folk. We enjoy reading other blogs and hope we can make ours fun too.
This weekend I have a quilt to finish for my daughter, then Shirl and I are going to attempt to finish some of Jodie Carltons kinder kids. We love her amazing blog vintagericrac.blogspot.com. If you ever need to smile - just go there!!
Next step is to show a photo or two.
May your fingers always be nimble!
